Neil brought his lovely but rather battered Roberts in for a service but unfortunately we discovered that the top tube was badly damaged and needed to be replaced. We stripped it down and sent it of to Phoenix Hotworks who replaced the tube with NOS Reynolds 531 to match the original tubing. We then sent the bike to David at Colour-Tech who used to paint Roberts frames back when this one would have been made. He was able to redo the paint exactly as it would have been originally and supplied some NOS Roberts decals to finish it off. Once back with us we completed the service and fitted a number of replacement Shimano 600 parts in place of older bits that had worn out. The results of such a complete restoration are clear to see and both Neil and all of us in the shop were very happy to have been able to keep such a stunning bicycle going in the best condition.
